Water-Based Pet Cremation

Water-based pet cremation, also known as aquamation or alkaline hydrolysis, is a relatively new and eco-friendly alternative to traditional pet cremation. Unlike flame-based cremation, this process uses water, heat, and alkaline chemicals to break down the pet’s body into its basic components. The remaining material is the calcium phosphate part of the bone which can be left in larger pieces or ground into smaller ash as is most common. The process is both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, producing less greenhouse gas emissions and leaving no toxic byproducts. Water-based pet cremation is gaining popularity among pet owners who are looking for a more sustainable and gentle way to say goodbye to their beloved pets.
